When I was a child, we had this large, illustrated book that was a catalog of weirdness. I wish I could remember what it was called, but it featured unexplained mysteries, UFOs and aliens, stuff like that. And of course, that wonderful Mayan Calendar with its Dec. 21, 2012 doomsday. At the time, the futuristic year 2000 felt a million years away, let alone trying to imagine anything past that point, but
