Due to no response from two judges, (and the time of waiting coming close to two weeks), I have decided to replace them with just ONE judge. (And yes, I have the right to do that from *H-D-STOCK - she said that if she does not respond I ought to do this without her.) So, dismissing *H-D-STOCK and *MadameM-stock, replacing with -

It was a wonderful journey through the Garden. I have met many wonderful artists along the road. I say I am VERY proud of all who took the courage to read the poetry and step up with an entry.

Yes, I do consider the contest a success, although we did not have hundreds of entries. I did not expect there would be. I did not aim for popularity. The tribute to Swinburne is done. However I am never done with him.



From too much love of living,

Algernon Charles Swinburne (April 5, 1837 – April 10, 1909) was a Victorian era English poet. His poetry was highly controversial in its day, much of it containing recurring themes of sadomasochism, death-wish, lesbianism and irreligion.

He is considered a decadent poet, although he perhaps professed to more vice than he actually indulged in, a fact which Oscar Wilde famously and acerbically commented upon.

Many of his early and still admired poems evoke the Victorian fascination with the Middle Ages, and some of them are explicitly medieval in style, tone and construction, including "The Leper," "Laus Veneris," and "St Dorothy".

He was an alcoholic and algolagniac, and a highly excitable character. His health suffered as a result, until he finally had a mental and physical breakdown and was taken into care by his friend Theodore Watts, who looked after him for the rest of his life in Putney. Thereafter he lost his youthful rebelliousness and developed into a figure of social respectability.

His mastery of vocabulary, rhyme and metre arguably put him among the most talented English language poets in history, although he has also been criticized for his florid style and word choices that only fit the rhyme scheme rather than contributing to the meaning of the piece.

This is an open event to visual artist's,
all artistic level's are welcome to participate.
MUST use 1 (or more) MODEL stock from *Mithgariel-stock &
1 (or more) images from *H-D-STOCK's stock to enter.
Please do not consider the use of a sky, texture or anything of the like the only stock you will use from us.
OUR stock image/s MUST be visualy APPARENT.
The same standards apply to slipping a B & W or colour scheme over the stock and calling it yours. Failure to follow stock artists' rules & we will ask you once (nicely) to remove it completely.
You can use any additional stock. Remember - respect their rules

MUST follow the *Mithgariel-stock / *H-D-STOCK's
personal stock rules and other stock artists rules.
MUST be based on the poem "Garden of Proserpine", so please write in your description how it is related to the poem.
MUST be a NEW work made for the contest.
