Still writing science fiction. Actually I am pretty keen on it. Maybe I will put it up when we're done with the first story. Not before. Don't want any obligations.
Writing Big City is not going well at all. Mainly from the lack of inspiration and motivation. I'm the kind of person who needs feedback, and frankly, having about one reader is... just not very motivating, let's face it.
If anyone knows how to gain more popularity in some honest way, then speak up... I really would not mind. Would pump my self esteem and that's one thing that really needs lifting.
Mostly too damn tired to do anything. Well, I do read. And I go to work and write sci-fi.
Mmm... books. I went shopping and thought I'd buy something for myself. Not something I have to buy, but something I would like to. So I bought two films and two books.
House of the flying daggers (yet to be watched)
Kingdom of Heaven ( I know that critics have given it raspberries, but I kinda liked it. Of course, would be nice if someone taught Orlando how to act, but oh well... the rest of them could do it fine, and it was nice and epic.)
And two books by one of my top favourite authors - Anne Rice.
I've got Cry to Heaven & Witching Hour. (The first is about castrates and damn marvellous. But so are all her books. I should know, I've read a good half of them.)
So, I made a decision - from each my salary I'll buy at least a few books. I discovered I can order them via Krisostomus, a firm that orders books from all over the world. And the good things - I can get basically anything that's been published and much cheaper than from a shop, since I can choose between publishers and editions.
So, I placed an order, and in 2-4 weeks I'll have Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles (all of them, except for the transactions with Mayfaire witches), her Beauty's Triology, and Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders (also 3 books).
Also planning to buy Martin's Song of Ice and Fire (I've read them, and wish to read them over and again), and Salvatore's Icewind Dale Triology and Dark Elf Triology (have the first book, Homeland, want the rest), plus Hobb's Tawny Man Triology (I've read it, but I wish to own it, badly.)
Anybody want to come to Helsinki with me next month? I've got a free ticket from Tallinn to Helsinki and back, and I can take somebody with me with half price. Since it's just one day, then I'm simply planning to go and visit the Zoo.
PS. I'm a giraffe.
Actually I am not, but I just wanted to check if you read this. If you did, say "giraffe".
