The idea - participants of the contest will make a fanfiction piece to the Labhrainn series - i.e Heart of Winter and/or Hounds and Bitches. The stories are originally written by ~anubishoarmurath and myself. (And they can be found in my gallery, in case you have no clue what I'm talking about.)

Wiki says about fanfiction:
Fan fiction is a broadly defined term for fiction about characters or settings written by admirers of the original work, rather than by the original creators. Most fan fiction writers assume that their readers have knowledge of the canon universe (created by the writer) in which their works are based.

So, now you know
Mediums? Any you can imagine - digital painting, photomanipulation, traditional drawing, short story (novel ), poem, photo, fluffy stuffed Keith - the limit is only your imagination and the term - fanfiction. So - it has to be connected to the world of Labhrainn and/or the characters.

Feel like tossing Gordon and Belaric through a wormhole unto Mars - go for it. The limit is your imagination, like already
said.



DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED, to allow several people who have irl issues (such as moving from one house to another etc.) to participate, thus giving everyone more time to read and work on their entries.

So, the contest ends now at 13th of August, midnight (Estonian time).
So far we have but 5 entries. That's very sad, actually.



Digital - everything you make using a computer or some other digital medium - photomanipulations, digital painting, 3d, vectors, photography (yeah, that, too), fractals (if you can explain them, we'll accept them).

Traditional - everything you make using your hands, feet and other body parts, without much assistance from computer and other such tools. So - drawing, painting, knitting and all your fluffy Keiths and Belaric-shaped cookies would go here.

Literature - teh written stuff, be it prose or poetry. Easy, huh?



Concerning digital category, especially photomanipulations - if you use references or stock, you are to follow rules set by stock artists (brush makers etc). If you fail to play by their rules, we won't accept your entry. We are both keen on stock artists (and I am one of them), so we're strict about it (and no, saying you got your stock from sxc.hu or morgue or smth does not count as crediting!)

You should write in your comments a brief explanation about the piece (how it is related to Winter's Anvil - what makes it fanfiction. If we won't see how it's connected to the world, we won't accept it, oops, sorry.)

Of traditional category:
Well, most likely you'd be drawing some character as you picture them, or a scene - can be landscape or other such picture, too, but you will have to explain in the comments how this is bound to Labhrainn. Once again - if we fail to see the connection, your entry won't be eligible.
Ps. if you really make Belaric-shaped cookies or stuffed Keith, please take a picture of the making process and of the final item, and post it

Of literature category:
No crossovers and keep an eye on the rating.
So basically - no Keith vs Harry Potter and if it's more gross than our writing, then you just might be in trouble.
Your piece is to be Labhrainn fanfiction, so the rest should be your original.

For all the categories - please keep an eye on your ratings (use those pretty mature filters, if necessary), and follow DA rules. (Yep, it's got them, you know )
